Review: Waiting For You by Susane Colasanti

     I guess this is it! This book is the third book of Susane Colasanti that I have read. I wasn't actually expecting much, since I didn't like her last two books much, but I still hoped that this book was a little better than them. Fortunately, it was.

     Marisa is the typical teenage girl, all she wants is to have the perfect boyfriend and to be the most popular girl in school. I am beginning to hate this kind of plot, it's always the same, why are these girls always obsessed with popularity?

     Anyway, Marisa thinks she has the perfect life. She got a cute boyfriend, she has two best friends, and her parents seem to be very happy together. But it all turns upside down on her , her mother is having an affair and now her father is living somewhere else. 

     Her boyfriend, Derek, seems to be unable to get over his ex-girlfriend. Her friend, Sterling feels left out since Marisa spends a lot of time with Derek. And her other friend, Nash is a wreck after his girlfriend ended things with him.

     Now is the time for Marisa to finally stand up, and leave her depression behind. Maybe she can make things right this time, and maybe she can finally find her Prince Charming? Or can she?

      Will Marisa get out of her depression? Will she finally not let Derek take control over their relationship? And will she find the perfect boyfriend? Find out when you read, Waiting For You...

     This book is the typical Susane Colasanti book. The pace is very slow, you need to push yourself to actually finish the book. Thank God, I am not the quitting time, or I would have stopped reading the book after the first ten pages.

     The characters are all normal, they have nothing that special. But you can easily connect with Marisa. She was definitely my favorite character, she liked photography and reading, just like me! That's a plus for this book!

     Overall, this book is your typical teenage story. I didn't enjoy it very much, but your ideas might be different. Have you read it? What did you think? Let me know in the comments sections...

 The last book I read by Susane Colasanti, did not satisfy me very much. But I decided to give her books another try. The next in line is Take Me There...

     The plot is laid out nicely, three friends go through three different post-breakup situations. Rhiannon is dumped by her boyfriend, but she still loves him and wants him back. Nichol dumps her boyfriend, Danny, for no reason at all. And she can't help but have a new crush, her super-hot Math teacher. James breaks up with his girlfriend, because of some silly "jealousy" issues she has.
     As the plot develops, they become closer friends when they plan to bring down the "queen bee", the meanest girl in school. Will Rhiannon and James take a step ahead? And will Nichol finally choose her Romeo? Find this out when you read Take Me There... 

Recommendation:

     I was pretty disappointed with this book, (Sorry Dear Author!) it was a clone of Susane Colasanti's other book, Something Like Fate. The pace is way too slow, and the characters are very "blank", there is no adventure, no surprises in this book. But I don't give up, I will still read her other books, maybe I will find a needle in this haystack...

Review: Something Like Fate by Susane Colasanti

Best friends Lani and Erin couldn't be more different. Lani's reserved and thoughtful; Erin's bubbly and outgoing. Lani likes to do her own thing; Erin prefers an entourage. There's no possible way they could be interested in the same guy. So when Erin starts dating Jason, Lani can't believe she feels such a deep connection with him--and it may be mutual. The more Lani fights it, the more certain she feels that it's her fate to be with Jason. But what do you do when the love of your life is the one person you can't have?

     There is nothing more twisted than Fate. And nothing more painful that betrayal. That's what Lani and Erin, the two best friends experience, in the novel, Something Like Fate...
      Lani and Erin are best friends, but they are very different. Erin is outgoing and brave, Lani is more of an introvert and a shy person. But a very rare coincidence occurs (If you believe in coincidences!), Erin falls in love with the boy she dates, the funny, kind Jason. Lani is surely happy for her, until she finds herself drawn to Jason, and he drawn to her as well.
     As Erin goes to camp, Lani and Jason have the chance to be together. But discovering that your best friend is dating your ex-boyfriend is something very painful even for the outgoing, not-caring-about-anything Erin.
     I quite liked one aspect of the novel, the way Lani cares about horoscopes, the way she believes in fate, and the way she cares about the environment. She convinces her friends to believe in what horoscopes say, to recycle the stuff they eat, and to believe in fate and the Unknown.
     What will Erin do? And will Lani and Jason have the chance to be together? If you want to know, then you should read Something Like Fate...

Recommendation:

     I should really say that I didn't quite enjoy the book, it's just your typical teenage story. Jealousy, Betrayal, Making-up, and the Happily Ever After. I wished there was a few sudden twists in the books and a bit more of action, because the book was a bit too slow. I liked it, it might just be your cup of tea, but I wouldn't recommend it...
